Happy Friday!

At work, we have this thing for our section called Happy Friday. Each Friday, one person in the group brings in either breakfast or dessert for the afternoon to make the day go by a little better. This morning the girl that was "hosting" it brought in chicken biscuits from Chik-Fil-A - yummy!!!! :) So that was a good start to the day even though it's going to be a slow one. My boss is out of the office today, and all the attorneys are leaving at 11 to go to some sort of retreat (I'm thinking more like schmoozing at the Byron Nelson but who knows?!). Needless to say it's going to be really EMPTY here this afternoon....which would be good except for the fact that I have to bill for my time and that makes things difficult when I have nothing to bill for, but that's a different story reserved for a different type of conversation.

Jes wanted to know some more details on the court reporting thing. I don't have to make a decision at any specific time because I already know that if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do the home-based one because the school one is too expensive and too long. So I can sign up for the home-based one whenever I want and go at my own pace. Since it will take me approximately a year, I just need to decide based on when I want to be done. The first test I have to take (the national one) is only given in May and November so I'd pretty much have to start immediately to try to be ready in time for the test in May. But I figure if I start later this summer, I can always go quicker or wait and take the November test. The Texas test is given 4 times a year (not sure exact dates yet), but at least I should be able to take that soon after as long as I pass the national one and be certified either by next fall or January/February 2007. So it's basically up to me and what I decide and when I decide to do it.

No, they did NOT fix the monster outside my bedroom window!!!! So I woke up several times last night hearing it scream....left some "nice" messages on the apartment office machine last night and Austin called them this morning and supposedly they are going to fix it today. He is going to call back at lunch and remind them again!!!

Other than that, not a whole lot to report. We're going to the Mavs game tonight - yippee - and tomorrow I plan on going shopping to see if I can find a cute dress to wear to my friend's wedding in June. Today is pay day so that always helps although I am not used to the new paychecks here and all the fees and things that have to be taken out, I always wish it was just a little more!!! ;) Oh well I guess we all do - that's why I need to get this court reporting thing on the road. They said working two days a week you can make more than I'm making now working 40+ hours. I like the sound of that!
