May I Help You?

It is May. The calendar says it, my watch says it, my phone caller id says it. Somehow the weather has got it all wrong though!!!! We've have an exceptionally pleasant "spring" this year which is nice because it usually goes from cold winter to super hot summer with no spring in between. However, it is now May and we need to have at least the springlike weather back instead of feeling like late fall/early winter. It has been in the 40s at night and only reaching the low 60s during the day. And rainy and windy and cold.......grrr!!! Being from Florida, I'm not very happy to this type of weather. Luckily, it is supposed to improve by tomorrow and have a beautiful weekend so I guess that's all that really matters. Just difficult to figure out what to wear to work because you feel kind of silly putting on a sweater and other wintry clothes in MAY!

Let's see what else.....I am going through my continual identity crisis of what to do with the rest of my life. Thinking about having children and the future has been a topic of discussion lately around our place. And me trying to figure out how all that will fit into my current life or what changes will need to take place is always interesting. At least for a little while, we will need my second income to help manage things especially if we have another mouth or two to feed. But dumping my child in daycare 8 hours a day 5 days a week isn't sounding like too much fun either. I've been exploring options for a "career" that pays well and has flexibility.

So a week from today, I'm going to an appointment at the local court reporting school just to see how things are. I've already looked into a home-based program as well as the option of going to this school in the evenings. I would prefer the home-based program, but I figured that I should still go by the school and check it out plus it will give me the opportunity to sit in front of the equipment, hear people talk about what it takes, what it's like, and try to figure out whether or not it might be for me which I can't do with the home study program until I've forked over the money and bought all the equipment and learning materials. So we'll see what comes of that! It would take me at least a year and a half to do the home-based study plus take the tests needed for Texas. But from what I've read about the schools it would take 2-4 years and that's just no fun. I already type 90+ words per minute, and I have familiarity with both the medical and legal terminology so at least I'd have a great start if I decide to go that route. I'll keep you updated!!

Austin got to leave work early today because he had to go to the doctor because he has fluid in his ear. But now he has medicine so that will make it more comfortable for him at least! I just wish I could go home and join him so we could start our workout earlier. Oh well, at least I get to leave by 5! I went to a lunch seminar today for work so I actually have some extra hours than normal so I will either get an hour or so of overtime next check or possibly just leave a little early on Friday or something. Guess we'll have to see - this week has gone by SUPER slow - tomorrow we have more training for 4 hours so again it will at least take up some time. Okay enough boring you with my little details, have a great day and talk to you later, alligators! :)
