VICTORY! :)

This morning was VERY productive for me (and for once, I'm not being sarcastic!). I got through all my e-mails this morning and focused in on the remaining 80+ pages left I had of that terrible transcript. I finished around 10:45 finally!!! The depo summary was about 10 pages long (better than the 400+ the actual transcript was) but still. I spent 10 hours and 15 minutes on that thing in the past 3 days!!!! But it's over, it's over, it's over, and my attorney was grateful even though he then proceeded to tell me to just stick the summary in with the transcripts because they had moved the depo that was supposed to be Monday that he needed it for until a future date. At least I didn't stay too late last night or take it home with me!

I also got all of my filing done. Our file clerk went on maternity leave the last week in September and apparently now only comes in one day a week to do docketing stuff and works from home. So for the past five months, we are each responsible for our individual filing. With me being out last week on Thursday and Friday (I usually try to file once a week on Fridays because most of my intensive files are in the office here with me and I just file that stuff away as it comes in), I didn't get it done last week or this, so I was grateful to get that stack of papers out of my alpha sorter and in the actual files. So that is done now too!

Then I went to a wonderful lunch with Jes - yum sushi! - and now I'm back at my desk trying to figure out what to do with myself since I don't have that massive transcript or pile of filing on my desk!!!! Yippee! We have a meeting at 1:30 today for our department that I have a feeling is going to be bad news, but at least I know that I've been doing my work, keeping good hours, etc. so I should be just sitting there listening most of the time. I have a feeling though that a few others will be up against some frustration on the part of our boss. Guess we'll have to see!

Hope you all have a wonderful afternoon & great weekend if I don't blog before! :)

How did the meeting go? And hey, why didn't you finish my filing while you were at it? I only have time to file every couple of months, so everything goes into a file immediately and the closed files have to wait to be put away... I haven't accomplished much at all here this week with Susan being out. At least now everybody's gone and I can blog for half an hour before I leave ;) Have a super weekend...

I have several files that need to be pulled & shipped offsite but I am too lazy to continue being that productive and doing it today. It will have to wait until Monday or next week sometime! :)

As for the meeting, it was short and sweet and to the point. Basically some people have been abusing the flexible time thing (we are usually able to come in any time between 8 and 9 and leave accordingly between 5 and 6 depending on when we got here and how long our lunch was). Now we are required to take (or at least allow for) a one hour lunch each day - in essence, we must be here 9 hours a day. And we have to e-mail him when we get here in the morning and when we leave at night so that he knows exactly what times. So if we come in at 8:03, we better not leave until 5:03. Fun stuff! He also said it was going to get busier and everyone needs to do their job without being reminded 100 times and to have a good attitude or they will be "taken care of."

Needless to say, none of that applies to me since I do my work and get here and leave at appropriate times and he even sent me an e-mail to make sure I wasn't upset and thinking it had to do with me in any way. :) So luckily, not too traumatic! Now I just have to coast my way through until 5:10 I think it is!

Have a great weekend! :)

I didnt really get what he meant about doing our work with a good attitude. I barely ever see him. I mostly just get emails. If he wants me to end every sentence with a :) so he thinks Im happy then I can do that I guess. He looked at me once like I was the one abusing the flexible time thing, and I get here when you do and leave when you do and usually take the same amount of lunch you do, so I dont see how that would have applied to me. we ALL knew who he was talking about. However I didnt get a feel better its not you email. Guess hes a little pissed about that half day I took last friday. But if he really want to hear why I took a half day I would be more than happy to fill him in on the never ending soap opera that is my life. Or I could give him my meds excuse. heehee, Im waiting for him to yell at me about something so I can use that one. Jes, see there is an up side to the meds othere than feeling better- just need a day? say your going to the dr and if they ask why you have all these appts all of a sudden, tell them your medicated and they dr was adjusting your dosage. That will shut them up in a hurry.

I can think of someone who wouldn't last there. She finally showed up for work yesterday, and one of her friends came in and sat next to her desk half the day while they played games on the computer. Then they shopped. She took a 2 hour lunch and left an hour and a half early...
