But It's So Far Away!

Okay, people, I promise not to be gross, but I have to discuss a topic that has lately been an issue for me: going to the bathroom at work. Now you are probably not wanting to read the rest of this blog, but I promise it is not graphic or disgusting in any way.

Here is the issue: they are doing construction of the rest of our office floor because we are expanding our office to encompass the entire floor. This construction has been going on for a month now already and has about two more months more to go. And the thing is that the bathroom for the women (which I am one) is all the way on the opposite side of the office. Now previously from our office, we could go out one door to our right, down a short hallway, and tada we were there. Since that is the area under construction, we now have to go in a U shape around the ENTIRE OFFICE to get to the bathroom and the other side, crawl through construction drapes as I like to call them, and step through dust and dirt to get into the bathroom. Or in the alternative, we could go out into the hallway through the lobby and wait for an elevator, go up one floor, get off the elevator, down the hall, use the bathroom, come back to wait for the elevator to go back down one floor, and then get back to our office. Either way IT IS A PAIN!!!!

Because of this, I have a tendency now to just be lazy when I need to pee. I am not willing to wander halfway across the earth just to use the bathroom, so I tell myself I can hold it. On Monday, I held it ALL DAY LONG because I kept procrastinating.....so by the time I sat in traffic and got home, I had to pee so bad I nearly bowled my animals and husband over trying to get to the bathroom. That is ridiculous! And it's not like I don't drink anything all day. I usually have a cup of coffee/cocoa, 2 sodas, and a few glasses of water in a day......that's a lot of liquid to be holding in all day.

Needless to say, I figured I would blog about this trauma in my life because it is random and silly and that is what this blog is for. Plus I'm majorily procrastinating on reading/summarizing this deposition that I've been working on since yesterday - 250 pages down, 150 more to go! Ugh - and it's not even anything interesting!!!! :) On that note, I'm going to go use the bathroom because it will waste some more time and at least I won't have to kill my family to get to the bathroom when I get home!

I feel your pain, since I sit 10 feet from you. It totally sucks. The only bonus I can think of is that it kills some time when we are bored. But thats about it. Other than that there is no up side. We dont get new offices, new computers or really benefit in any way from all the construction. And we have to suffer through all the banging and yelling and drilling and whistling (yes I said whistling, youd be surprised how fast that gets annoying). Sigh.
