I Passed!
Yay for me - I passed the one-hour glucose test. So after all that worrying about the three hour test, I am not going to have to take it! Yipee! Since I still have a bruise on my arm from where the lady screwed up my blood draw, I'm glad not to have to be poked or prodded for a little while longer! And now I can still have my sweets which I enjoy! :) I was pretty sure that I didn't have gestational diabetes because out of paranoia, I had tested my blood on Austin's blood meter last weekend (he has Type I diabetes for those of you that don't know), and it was normal. But I was still afraid they would try to tell me I had failed the 1 hour like some people do even if they don't have diabetes. Thank goodness - I'm glad for the good news.
I am a little low on iron though from my blood test (probably because I've had somewhat of a meat aversion since pregnant) so in addition to my prenatal vitamin and DHA supplement I take at night, I now get to take an iron supplement in the morning. Luckily, my dad was able to recommend one that causes less stomach irritation and less backup if you know what I mean so I will be swinging by Target on the way home to pick that one up. Yay for having a dad that is a doctor! :)
Other than that, things are still pretty slow around here and probably will be for another two weeks. But it's okay because now that we have the closing date, I plan to spend a lot of next week getting all our utilities set up and transferred and all of that mess so it is done before I get busy and so we can get the dates we want for things to be turned on/off and all of that fun! And next week I have another doctor's appointment.
Oh and in other good news, I found out that the two people in my department at work are going to throw me a work baby shower on January 23rd. So that is really exciting! :) I love unexpected surprises like that. We are having a couples shower for friends/family on February 4th too so we are really blessed to have so much love for Cooper. That's all for now I guess - have a great rest of the day!

I do LOVE baby showers. ENjoy them!
a meat aversion? i don't believe i've heard about this. please elaborate. :)
Meat aversion - as in not so fond of meat right now. Beef, chicken, pork. It's better now because I'm not getting sick from it. But I find myself eating a few bites of the meat and then not wanting any more. I will eat everything else around it and it doesn't make me feel sick or gag or anything any more, but I just don't want very much of it. Fun times!
I wish I could make it, and I got the invite yesterday, I laughed so hard that you put Jay on there too. (and Jay)
lol
That is so fantastic!!
I have my test Monday, and I'm glad to hear of someone who actually had a positive experience with it.
everytime i come check your site, and i see "I Passed!" i always think it says, "I Pissed!" and I have to double-check it.
you'd think i'd remember what it says, but i don't.
