Santa Claus Is Coming to Town (Next Week)!
Okay, so I'm realizing that two weeks from today we leave to go to Florida for the holidays to spend time with the family. The good thing is that his family is coming with us (well not all of them but his brother and parents!) and we have lots of fun activities planned besides just the normal Christmasy thing. And I've tried to be good and do a little shopping here and there, but I'm kind of at a standstill now. Our bank account is slowly dwindling due to Christmas buying as well as trying to get organized and stock up on new things for our new apartment. And the worst part is that neither of us get paid until NEXT Wednesday when we both get paid the same day plus I'm supposed to get a pretty good Christmas bonus (at least it was good last year - can't say what it will be this year since they have neglected to inform us yet for some reason even though we know they already finished calculating them and they are all finalized). So as of next Wednesday, we will have plenty of money. I have to pay some bills out of that but nothing extravagant and we are getting two paychecks plus an extra one basically of bonus (at least I'm hoping). But of course this week when I REALLY need to be able to order gifts as I think of them online so I don't have to cart five million things on the airplane with me, I don't have enough money. Boo to that! Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with making a list of all the things I have to get on Wednesday next week and hope we have enough extra money to pay for the extra shipping costs! Yikes! So I'm excited because it's fun buying things for people and coming up with good ideas but sad because I can't get the ball rolling any further yet. Oh well, 6 days and counting until the busy Internet shopping day & bill-paying day which will occur next Wednesday! :)

can you just put it on a credit card and pay off the card when you get paid?
yes, christmas buying is fun. i've been wrapping roger's presents, and i'm so excited about it. i want to open them now!!!
Our firm got our bonuses today (hooray)... and it was more than a paycheck! Hope Santa is as kind to you :)
If only Santa would be so kind. I doubt it. But sure would be exciting. Never worked anywhere were I got a Christmas bonus before. Or where I would get Christmas off. Usually this is when I have to gather up all my courage to tell my boss that I cant work the holidays and it really isnt negotiable, but in my defense, I am always back for New Years Eve to work. Cant help it if my family loves me SOOOO much that they cant bear to have the holidays without me. :)
Jes, thanks for the good suggestion but I refuse to put anything on my credit cards until I have paid them 100% down. Which will take awhile but I'm working on it! ;) Just don't want them to go up any more! So even though it's an option, as far as my mind goes, it's not. Better to have restraint than not. I could however transfer a bit of money from savings into our checking account to float until next week because it's easy to transfer it back because it's the same bank BUT I'm scared because I have NO IDEA how much the bonus will/will not be. If I knew that, I could justify the transfer because I would know I could easily pay it back. But this not knowing part is what is killing me...it's bad enough we don't get the checks until next week but to top it off, they haven't even been kind enough to let us know what it might be. So....that's probably the route I'll go. I'm hoping that Santa will be good to me too and especially good by giving it tomorrow but I doubt that will happen. Maybe we will at least find out tomorrow what the check will be Wednesday which would be fine too and ease some mental anxiety! ;) I'll keep you all updated on my plight!
Maybe you should just transfer the same amount you got as a bonus last year. I mean, it has to be at least that much, right?
