Weekend Update

Monday morning, week two. Got here about five or ten minutes after 8 and was told by one of the attorneys that I probably wasn't on the e-mail but that we have a conference call at 8:30. Fun! 1.5 hours later, I'm back at my desk with some down time before 1 pm when I'm going to finally get to meet with the senior paralegal and start off on this adventure! Still have one more program to train on (the billing program - yuck!), but I'm not in the system yet so I can't train until that happens.

Friday: Left work around 4:45 and got a phone call from Austin saying we got ANOTHER WARNING at our apartment complex. This time at least we weren't singled out, apparently they have a pigeon problem, and anyone around the complex that had shelves on their balcony were asked to remove them. We had shelves out there with plants on them, and we did find when we went to move them that there was plenty of pigeon droppings to warrant their request. Have to get smaller plant shelves or those ones that go over the side of the balcony I guess. :) Went out to dinner at Hooters and came home and watched Ladder 49. It was a really good movie, but VERY SAD!

Saturday: Got up, read some of my book & did laundry while Austin was mowing, and then did the 20 minute workout for Core Secrets. Let me tell you it was great, but my arms felt like jello afterwards and I'm sore still even today! We showered & got ready and headed out to the dealership to pick up Austin's truck (remember the alternator incident!). We looked at SportsTraks because we are thinking of getting one for Austin in the near future because he has like 165,000 miles on his truck and we're afraid it will depreciate in value further plus start breaking down more often. We both really like the SportsTraks because he can still have the truck bed but it's not huge & the interior is roomy like an Explorer. So maybe we'll have two new vehicles in the near future!

Saturday night, we met Austin's cousin, Josh, at TGIFriday's for dinner and then headed to the Maroon 5 concert. The Donnas were the opening band, and I have to say I was VERY IMPRESSED. You would never think rock sounds like that would come from a group of four really girly looking girls....pretty cool stuff! Then Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5, came out and said that he had had an accident backstage that day and had fractured his sternum & had a one inch laceration that had been stitched up, but that he was sorry and he was on pain pills & couldn't move much but he was going to try the best he could. It was a REALLY cool show, especially considering the pain he must have been going through...about 45 minutes into their set, he apologized again and said he would have to watch the rest of the show from the balcony. The normal drummer (the backup had been playing all night) came out (he apparently had been with him at the hospital all day and was waiting backstage to see how long Adam could last), and started playing with the band. They played that popular White Stripes song & then Highway to Hell and it was really very cool. The guitarist came out into the audience and came up the aisle we were on and jumped on the chair two rows in front of us and played guitar. It was really a cool experience despite the fact that they were just trying to do their best....but considering the show was sold out, they wanted to do the best they could.

SUNDAY: Got up Sunday morning and went to Walmart where we got some more plants (Austin has a green thumb), some picture frames for our offices, and I got a cheap rug for my new office to give it some color! Then we went over to Austin's parents' house for lunch. They had caught a bunch of fish on their vacation last week in Port Aransas so we had that - it was all so yummy! We came home and were going to go the grocery store but I wasn't feeling very well so we decided instead to cut out pictures for our new frames and relax. We had a coupon for a free pizza so we used that and I brought most of my part for lunch today since I was still stuffed. We watched the Contender (so sad!) and Las Vegas which we had tivo'd last week. Then we relaxed & went to bed!

This morning, I got woken up to deafening thunder which woke me up. Austin was already up and eating breakfast, and it scared him half to death so you can imagine how it felt for me when I was sleeping! Of course, it lasted just long enough so that I couldn't go back to sleep so I've been up since 5 this morning already! Oh well, probably have to hit the bed early tonight! :)

Hope you all had a great weekend like me and keep on blogging!
