It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

So last night, Austin & I decided that it was absolutely necessary to watch the Charlie Brown Halloween special and simultaneously carve our pumpkins! And I have to say it was super fun. I had downloaded and printed some pumpkin patterns from the Internet yesterday, and after much thought, we decided that he would do a dog and I would do a cat in honor of our cat and dog, Mikah and Maddie respectively. :) There's something about carving a pumpkin that is therapeutic. Get to scrape out the insides and then design. And then putting your hands through all the goopy stuff is the best part because it's so gross that it's cool! I of course saved the seeds and plan on cooking them hopefully tonight! The pumpkins turned out really cool, and we took pictures to share but I haven't quite yet figured that part of posting on here out yet. Oh well! Just thought I would share my story of Halloween fun - not planning on doing much for the actual holiday but the pumpkin carving thing is fun at least!

Im hoping to at least get mine carved before Halloween, but right now thats all I can hope for. After all the day after Halloween is Pumpkin Smashing Day and whats the point of carving a pumpkin after Halloween anyway? Wheres the fun in that?

I love the Charlie Brown series. Roger and I own Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I started to watch it on TV last night, but opted not to so that R & I can watch it together instead. :)

Attached to the Halloween DVD is one called, "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown." It's the Election Day cartoon, and we're watching that one on Nov. 2nd.

PS - Have you guys voted yet? I'm going tomorrow morning.

Voting - what is that? Apparently there is some sort of conspiracy and despite requesting it on TWO separate occasions, my absentee ballot is yet to arrive. So unless it comes today or tomorrow, I'm basically not going to get to vote this year. And yes I'm still registered in Florida because I thought at least this year I would be able to make a difference since that's a divided state and I could influence the decision. But alas, no voting for me it looks like! I'll be registered here after we move to our new apartment and I get all my name-changing paperwork done! Blah!

Oooh fun Halloween Plans! What are you going to be for Halloween? I'll be Raggedy Ann again, since I made that costume last year. ;-) Have fun!

Dude. That sucks. I can't believe you can't vote. Grrrrrrrrr....you should take some time off and go home to Florida. GWB needs you. Of course, if you're voting for Kerry, stay in TX, and don't check your mailbox until Nov. 3rd. ;)

I know he needs my vote so that's why I wanted to vote in Florida instead of here because this one is a shoe-in. Grr...maybe it will come. ;) At least I can hope so. Too bad they can't figure out a way to do online or phone voting. Maybe I will invent that and be rich! Heehee!
